FUTURISM

is a variant of Christian eschatology that today is found mostly in dispensational theology.  Futurism views most of the apocalyptic literature of Revelation, Daniel, Ezekiel, and the Olivet Discourse (Matthew 24) as taking place in the future.

Futurism existed in the early Christian church as historic premillennialism.  This view did not believe in a rapture of the church, but it did believe in a literal one thousand year millennial

reign of Christ, followed by a period of brief rebellion and then the eternal state.  Modern day futurism is found mostly in the dispensational camp.  Dispensationalism teaches that the church will be raptured prior to the anti-christ coming to power, and the ushering in of a literal seven year tribulation period.  At the end

of the Tribulation the anti-christ will be vanquished and Christ will return to set up a one thousand year kingdom.

This kingdom, called the Millennium, will end with a rebellion

against the rule of Christ.  The rebellion will be crushed and the

Great White Throne judgment will take place.  Following this will

 be the eternal state.

The Origins of Dispensational Futurism

Published by Marcos S.

Greetings brothers and sisters!

For years Adventist teachers and evangelists have taught that the doctrines inherent in Dispensational Futurism can be traced back to the Jesuits, primarily cardinals Francisco Ribera (16th century), Robert Bellarmine (17th century) and Manuel de Lacunza (18th century). However, when this information is put forward to some of the more learned Dispensationalists of this era, they come back with a seemingly convincing counter-argument--that is, that Futurism originates in the teachings of the early Church Fathers in the 2nd and 3rd century A.D. long before any Jesuits existed. This they claim is "proof" that the Jesuits were not responsible for the doctrines of Futurism in the Protestant world, and that it was primitive to the early Church.

Getting to the bottom of this problem, some diligent Adventist students of bible prophecy and history have decided to delve much deeper into this subject to see if this claim is true. The results in this research are quite shocking as well as eye-opening. It is something I believe EVERY Adventist teacher, pastor, evangelist and professor needs to become aware of if they intend to fairly and accurately deal with this massive theological framework that has permeated at least 80% of the ranks in Christendom today.

It would be impossible to unravel all the intricate parts and origins of the eschatological construct of Dispensational Futurism in this single article. Therefore, the primary purpose of this writeup is to encourage the reader to listen to the Radio Program by Mike Warren and D.S. Farris, and read the accompanying Document by D.S. Farris entitled "Futurism: The Counterfeit Prophecy" found at the bottom of this article. However, below is a summarized outline of facts to get your feet wet concerning the issues that will be discussed in the Radio Show and accompanying document in relation to some major problems Dispensationalists are overlooking, and why we believe that, after all, it does appear that the Jesuits were responsible for the Dispensational eschatological construct we see today.  To many, the following information may prove to be quite shocking, as there is much to chew on here that is not discussed within eschatological circles:

A Summary of the Origins of Dispensational-Futurist Theology:

The Jesuits created the modern system of dispensational

futurism. Although the Jesuits derived certain aspects of this myth

from "futuristic elements" embedded in the teachings

of the early church fathers, the evidence is clear that they

elaborated the elements of this myth from the early church

fathers as a tool to destroy and counter the Protestant

Reformation by attempting to lift the heat off the Papacy as the

 identity of Antichrist.

Futurism LIE EXPOSED!

Truth About Dispensational Futurism

Below is a 11 part series on Dispensational Futurism and the errors in this doctrine is refuted thoroughly. The evidence against Futurism as an interpretation of end time bible prophecies is vast and can be traced back to Jewish Mysticism and the writings of extra-biblical doctrine by early church fathers. These early writings where used by Jesuits like Francisco Reberia and General Belarmine to lay the foundation of Futurism as we know it today

The Truth About Dispensational Futurism (1/11)

 so what about?

2 Thessalonians 2:2-4

That ye be not soon shaken in mind, or be troubled, neither by spirit, nor by word, nor by letter as from us, as that the day of Christ is at hand. Let no man deceive you by any means: for that day shall not come, except there come a falling away first, and that man of sin be revealed, the son of perdition;

Who opposeth and exalteth himself above all that is called God, or that is worshipped; so that he as God sitteth in the temple of God, shewing himself that he is God.

BUT DOESN'T THESE VERSES SAYS THAT THE

TEMPLE NEEDS TO BE BUILT?

NO, THAT IS JUST A PART OF THE LIE.

HERE PEOPLE ARE WAITING WITH BATED

 BREATH FOR THE

TEMPLE TO BE BUILT:

A third temple is required only if you're a
dispensationalist. Jesus' completed redemptive work makes the need for a rebuilt temple
unnecessary. His ministry begins with the declaration that He is our tabernacle (John 1:14), "the lamb of God who takes away the sin of the world" (1:29), "the temple" (John 2:19-21), and the "chief cornerstone" (Matt. 21:42; Acts 4:11; Eph. 2:20). By extension, believers are "as living stones, . . . being built up as a spiritual house for a holy priesthood, to offer up spiritual sacrifices acceptable to God
through Jesus Christ" (1 Peter 2:5). Those "in Christ" are the true temple of God (1 Cor. 3:16; 2 Cor. 6:16; Eph. 2:21; Rev. 21:22). Jesus and the people of God are the focus of the only temple that has any redemptive significance. To be "in Christ" is to be in the temple and all it stood for, "the renewed centre and focus for the people of God"4 (Rom. 12:5; 1 Cor. 1:2, 30; Gal. 3:14, 28; 5:6).

WE ARE THE TEMPLE BECAUSE

GOD LIVES IN US!

STILL WANT MORE PROOF.
